Gracie Moonpie & Company continues to wow the community with sweet delights for the eyes… and the taste buds. The cake and confection company has spent the fall season branching out with new edible art displays across Michigan and into Ohio.
Simultaneously, Gracie Moonpie & Company created decadent edible displays at Art & Apples in Rochester, MI and for an Art Van store grand opening in Toledo, OH.
“When we were asked to design an over-the-top, high-end-shopping themed cake and dessert display for the Art Van Grand Opening, we had already begun our designs for the Art & Apples VIP Charity Preview set for the same evening,” said Tocco.
Held the first week of September, both the Art Van Grand Opening and the VIP Charity Preview were a great success. From French macarons to mini apple pies baked in a sugar cookie crust to Hermès and Louis Vuitton-themed cakes, each line of icing was hand crafted by Tocco and her team.
As the leaves continued to change this October, Gracie Moonpie created intricate edible art pieces based upon actual pieces entered in the show for The [Birmingham] Community House’s “Our Town” Opening Night Party.
“I was asked to recreate art that was entered into the show as part of my cake design,” said Tocco. “What a privilege it was to be a part of this event.” The money raised by this event will aid in supporting TCH’s many Educational, Cultural, and Wellness programs that strive to improve people’s personal and professional lives.
As Gracie Moonpie finalizes plans for a bakery that is set to open in Rochester, Tocco will be at the Crittenton Foundation’s 37th Annual Gourmet Gala on Sunday, November 3rd, with a “Jazz Age” inspired display complete with edible art deco pieces and edible jewelry.
“We are so excited for this display,” said Tocco. “The design is a surprise, there will be desserts, art deco jewelry designs and, yes, edible pearls, diamonds, and gold!”
The Gourmet Gala benefits the Crittenton Foundation’s many efforts, including the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center’s new South Tower.
“I’m honored to be a part of this community,” said Tocco. “The Rochester area has welcomed me with open arms and I am privileged to give back in any way that I can.”
