100 Women Who Care Greater Rochester, founded in 2013 by Amy Whipple, Linda Chayka, and Barbara Donohoe, has distributed $1,104,537 to local nonprofits in Southeast Michigan.
The organization launched a new website this week.

The new website was designed and developed by Smash Creative Group, which donated its services.
“When we founded 100 Women Who Care Greater Rochester, we believed that ordinary women could accomplish extraordinary things simply by coming together four times a year,” said Amy Whipple, co-founder of the organization. “Thirteen years later, more than $1.1 million has been invested back into our community, but our greatest accomplishment isn’t the dollars—it’s the hope we’ve helped provide. Every quarter we witness firsthand how collective generosity changes lives, and we’re just getting started.”
The group holds quarterly meetings at which members vote to select a local nonprofit to receive the pooled donations. Each member contributes $100 per quarter, and 100% of every donation goes directly to the selected organization.
Since its founding, the organization has supported more than 45 nonprofits addressing needs in areas such as children and youth programs, veterans and military families, seniors, individuals with disabilities, cancer support, domestic violence and human trafficking services, foster care, homelessness, and food insecurity. Funds have been used for meals, clothing, shelter, school supplies, medical care, mental health services, and other community services.
Recipient organizations have included New Day Foundation for Families, Rochester Neighborhood House, Dutton Farm, Turning Point, Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic, Hope Against Trafficking, and others.
Prior to the pandemic, the organization had 266 members. It currently has approximately 160 members. Membership is open to women in the Rochester, Rochester Hills, and surrounding communities. Members contribute $100 quarterly and vote on grant recipients.
