GRAND MARSHAL CELEBRATION

 

Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Great Oaks Country Club, 777 Great Oaks Blvd, Rochester, Michigan from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Open to the public with Hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment for $20 per person call 248-651-6700 to RSVP.  Dress is Christmas Casual.

8:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.  – Pancake Breakfast at the Older Persons’ Commission at 650 Letica Drive, Rochester, Michigan sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Rochester.  Open to the Public, Adults $5.00 Children (12 & under) $2.00, for more information contact the Rochester Chamber at 248-651-6700. 

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Meet with Santa downtown before the Parade on 4th Street and Rochester Road /Main St. behind the bleachers.

KRIS KRINGLE MARKET

Experience the freshness of an open-air winter market!  The downtown Rochester Kris Kringle Market is a community wide event featuring one-of-a-kind shopping, specialty foods, fresh greens, and wreaths and handcrafted gifts for the holidays.  December 3rd 6 – 9 p.m., December 4th Noon – 9 pm, December 5th 11 am – 5 pm

1:45 p.m. – The 59th Annual Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade starts down Main Street from the corner of Tienken Road & Rochester Road, led by the  Rochester Police and Oakland County Sherriff’s Department, and the Grand Marshal and Dignitaries.

Throughout the Parade – Nine marching bands are sponsored by: Bill Fox Chevrolet, The Oakland Press, AT&T, Franklin Title Agency, LLC, Gofrank & Mattina, P.C., Paint Creek Pediatrics & Adolescent Care P.C, Royal Park Hotel, The PrivateBank, and Twin Lakes Golf & Swim Club

POST PARADE COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE

The Rochester Community House located at 816 Ludlow in the Rochester Municipal Park will host the community immediately following the parade.  Local non-profits will be selling hot dogs, meat balls, hot cocoa, coffee, cookies, doughnuts, popcorn and other goodies.  Special guest, Pat Botkin, the parade’s Grand Marshal will be attending.  Admission to this event is free.

 

COMMUNITY AFTERGLOW WITH SANTA CLAUS

 

4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Community Afterglow with Santa Claus at Bordine Nursery, 1835 S. Rochester Road at Hamlin.   Pictures with Santa (bring your camera) and plenty of goodies as well.

 

 

THE ROCHESTER HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE

This year, the Rochester Community Christmas Parade, “Candy Lane on Main”, will roll down Main Street with over 100 units.  Look for, and count them, 36 floats — designed with “Candy Lane on Main” theme in mind; 9 marching bands, 14 drill teams, several dozen dogs,  horse drawn carriages, clowns, fire trucks, and more than 15 units of marchers — the Cub Scouts, Brownies, and 4 H’ers among them.
