The Green Space Advisory Board’s Annual Green Space Discovery Hike
Saturday, May 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. discover an overlooked natural treasure in Rochester Hills. Enjoy a guided hike along with Clinton River Trail and explore the Harding Green Space and the certified International Monarch Waystation. Information Stations are along the Clinton River Trail. The first fifty people will receive a 10% discount card (good for a year) from Dunham’s Sports. Each hiker will be able to enter a raffle for a drawing of donated prizes from Premier Pet Supply and Wild Birds Unlimited.
Volunteers will be available to answer questions and share information about the plants, animals, ecology and history of these properties, as well as their impact on the health of the Clinton River. Learn about invasive plants and efforts to eradicate them, as well as how to create a backyard Monarch Waystation. Learn about the successful and ongoing stewardship efforts throughout the Harding Green Space. There will also be an “I Spy” Challenge for the kids.
