PCCA is sad to announce the cancelation of the 2020 Art & Apples Festiva

As the state of Michigan continues to navigate its new normal and the fight against COVID-19, Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Art & Apples Festival.

“We are sad to announce the cancellation of this year’s Art & Apples Festival,” said Elizabeth Chilton, Paint Creek Center for the Arts executive director. “Although we held onto the hope that we would be able to hold this year’s festival, we do not foresee a safe way to welcome thousands of festival-goers while keeping our guests, artists, and community safe.”

The Festival, started 55 years ago, accounts for more than half of the Rochester-based art center’s annual revenue. The loss of this beloved event, and the corresponding revenue loss for Paint Creek Center for the Arts, comes at a time when nonprofits across the country are struggling to continue to fulfill their missions and stay connected with their communities.

Paint Creek Center for the Arts will issue refunds to all artists, vendors, and booth sponsors who previously paid to participate in the 2020 event. Follow PCCA’s Facebook Page for more updates, future plans for the Art & Apples Festival, and ways to donate to the Center.

The annual tradition of the Art & Apples Festival is expected to return next year, September 10-12, 2021.
