Rochester Writers & Rochester Hills Public Library host third annual Author Fair on Small Business Saturday, November 27, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Book lovers from across metro Detroit can delight in finding new authors, meeting with favorite writers, and perhaps catching some writing inspiration of their own at the third annual Authors Fair hosted by Rochester Writers and Rochester Hills Public Library. This popular local literary event takes place in the library’s Multipurpose Room from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Small Business Saturday, November 27.
Twenty authors will be on hand to discuss their books and love of writing. The event features a mix of traditionally published and self-published authors. This event is free and open to the public. The library has set up an Author Page on their website with bios, genres, information, and more from each of the twenty authors.
“We have an exciting line-up of authors for the event this year,” said Michael Dwyer from Rochester Writers. “From first-time authors with their first novel, to established authors who have several books. With many different genres, we’re sure to have a good read for any literary fan. And, it’s a perfect opportunity to find a gift for someone on your holiday list this year.”
Michael Dwyer spoke to each author via Zoom as a preview to the author fair. Those short, promotional videos can be watched on the library’s YouTube Channel.
Library director Juliane Morian believes libraries provide critical support for local authors and the art of writing. “As community centers, public libraries embrace experience-based opportunities that foster productivity and creativity,” said Morian. “Libraries provide space for individuals to be productive in their work and hobby pursuits. This annual event is an example of how libraries inspire reading by connecting writers and readers within the community.”
