You have to wonder if their mother ever saw this coming: a day when her two sons, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett and Orion Township Supervisor Chris Barnett would shake hands on an agreement that will be beneficial to both their cities.

On Monday, the Rochester Hills City Council unanimously passed a measure that will allow Rochester Hills and Orion Township to share public works such as water, sewer, roadway, pathway, and traffic-related issues. in the coming years.

Chris Barnett was quoted in The Oakland Press saying, “If your neighbor has a shovel you can borrow, why would you buy one? This makes sense not just because we’re brothers but because we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel.”
