Be My Valentine with a Library Raffle Ticket

Looking for a Lovely Valentine’s Gift? Give a Friends of the Library’s 60-40 Raffle Ticket to your Valentine. Tickets Now Available Online and via the Phone.

A couple embraces outside, each holds a heart-shaped balloon on a string.

Buy your beloved a ticket for The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library’s first-ever high-stakes 60-40 raffle available to everyone.

The raffle proceeds will hopefully help make up for the loss of, or limitations on, key Friends fund-raising events and operations during the past year due to COVID-19. The 2020 casualties included the cancelled Holiday Home Tour, the Wine, Wit & Wisdom dinner/lecture events, and the used book and media sales, which were greatly curtailed and the very limited operations of the Friends Library Store.

How does it all work? One lucky winner – maybe you or someone you love – will get 40 percent of the pot created by all ticket buyers at $100 a ticket. For example, if 1,000 tickets are sold, the lucky winner gets $40,000 (minus mandatory tax withholding) with $60,000 (minus expenses) going to the Friends to support the Library. The drawing will be in the Library’s Multi-purpose room at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20.

To purchase tickets online, click on the “Visit the Friends of the RHPL” on the library’s website to buy a ticket via Pay Pal. (You can make a computer copy of the purchase for your Valentine’a Day card). An entry confirmation will be mailed out. No computer access? Call 248-650-7176 and leave a message. A Friends representative will facilitate your purchase.

Valentine’s Day is February 14
