Beloved Children’s Authors to Visit Rochester Hills Public Library

The Rochester Hills Public Library invites local youth to meet their favorite writers at the Authors in April Autograph Party, Wednesday, April 26.

Unique to Rochester, Authors in April is a non-profit group that offers children and parents the opportunity to spend time with renowned authors. During the Authors in April Autograph Party authors Mike Wohnoutka, Lenore Look, Cynthia Lord and Neal Shusterman will be signing autographs, taking photos with fans and answering questions.

“The Rochester Hills Public Library is proud to be able to offer the Authors in April Autograph Party. I believe that by making these authors accessible we can encourage children to be lifelong readers, help them improve their own creative writing ability, and develop a greater appreciation for quality literature,” says Library Director Christine Lind Hage.

The authors will spend a week in the local schools to present their books and will attend a benefit dinner at the Royal Park Hotel. The exclusive benefit dinner will take place on April 24. Tickets are $45 to $75.

“The fundraising dinner is a fun night out for fans of children’s literature. It allows guests to really get to know the author in a more intimate setting,” says Youth Services Manager Claire Lopiccolo.

The Authors in April Autograph Party will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the Rochester Hills Public Library from 4-6 p.m., April 26. Books will be available for purchase in the library’s lobby. No registration is needed.
