Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is Presenting Two Bird Programs in February
The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm will be presenting Owl Prowl and the Great Backyard Bird Count at the Museum in February.
Owl Prowl
Saturday, February 6
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Why are owls such great nighttime hunters? Join Patrick Endres, Rochester Hills Environmental Educator, as he answers this question and teaches guests where you can see owls. This program will include a hands-on activity, story time, and an off-site hike to look for and hear owls.
Great Backyard Bird Count at the Museum
Saturday, February 13
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
If you like bird watching and want to help birds this winter, come to the museum on this day. Patrick Endres will be showing guests how to participate in the 19th annual Great Backyard Bird Count. The Great Backyard Bird Count allows the general public worldwide to gather data about their local birds that will benefit scientists and natural resource managers. The 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. is for adults and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. is for families (with children 7 and up). Both programs will introduce guests to winter birds and how to identify them. Come dressed for an outdoor hike around the museum grounds.
Dress for the Weather

For non-members, the admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students.
