Blessings in a Backpack

Please join us for an inspiring evening … Liz Murray will be here in Rochester Hills to share her story of overcoming adversity and the importance of dreaming big. After being homeless at an early age, Liz battled her way through life to complete high school in two years and graduate from Harvard. Liz says, “Look at what’s going on in our economy right now. People are losing their jobs and houses, and there’s an underlying fear that when we lose the things we believe make us who we are, we’re not a human being anymore. But I know you can lose a lot of things and still have yourself.”

When: Tuesday, September 14th

7:00 – 9:00 PM

Where: West Middle School, Media Center

500 Old Perch Road

Liz has been on Oprah, 20/20 and has a Lifetime movie about her commitment to achieve things that might have seemed impossible. She is making several stops in communities across the country with Blessings in a Backpack Founder, Stan Curtis, promoting awareness of childhood hunger.
