Dear Friends,
Please join me in supporting the 2013 Michigan Earth Day Festival in the heart of downtown Rochester. In Oakland County, being green is about quality of life and attracting jobs.
Our quality of life is second to none in part because of our nationally-recognized Green Infrastructure Vision – a collage of local open space efforts among our 61 communities, intended to guide and coordinate local and multijurisdictional preservation efforts. The process takes a broad-based ecosystem approach to planning for the protection and stewardship of sustainable biological diversity.
Oakland County also has a world-class parks system with a total 6,700 acres of natural landscapes and outdoor recreation; 68 miles of biking and hiking trails; and well-preserved open spaces – places that not only preserve the natural beauty of Oakland County, but also offer safe and serene settings for family outings and gatherings.
Sincerely, L. Brooks Patterson
Oakland County Executive
