Come and celebrate our agricultural heritage with Silos in the Landscape photography competition to be show cased alongside the history of silos, their construction, purpose, and function.
GUIDELINES
Oakland Township Historic District Commission (HDC) invites all to enter its 2013 photo contest. We are looking for images of Silos that are located in Oakland County, Michigan.
JUDGING
Images will be judged on originality, composition, technical excellence, and artistic merit. The judges are a panel of local professional artists. Placing of 1st–$200 gift card, 2nd-$100 gift card, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Winners need not be present. All photos will be judged blind, with no name associated with them. (Please sign your name on back of the photo or mat.)
IMAGES
Images should be printed in 8 x 10 size, can be color or black and white, and have any color matt board 11 x 14 frame. You may submit as many photos as you wish! All entries will be displayed at Cranberry Lake Farm Historic District for the Saturday, August 3, 2013, Down on the Farm event planned by the HDC and the Oakland Township Historical Society. Selected pictures (with permission) will also be on display at Oakland Township Hall in the fall for residents to view.
DEADLINES AND DELIVERY
All entries will be accepted until Friday, July 26, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. Enlarged photos may be delivered in person at the Oakland Township Hall or the HDC office in the Paint Creek Cider Mill, or they can be mailed to 4393 Collins Road, Rochester, MI 48306. A drop box will be placed outside the HDC office door.
PERMISSIONS
You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit. The HDC may request your permission to rights to use the image on the website for publicity purposes in support of our mission. Conditions of this permission shall credit all photographs with the name of the photographer (you).
PICK-UP PHOTOS
All photos can be picked up after Monday, August 5, 2013 in the HDC office unless other arrangements have been made.

RULES
- All images must be taken by the person entering the contest.
- Photos must be taken in Oakland County, Michigan with a silo in the picture.
- All images must be true to the original scene.
- There is no limit to the number of images that one can submit.
- Anyone is free to enter photos for submission except our judges.
- Photographer will provide the following information:
- Name and contact information
- Brief description of where the photo was taken (village, town, city, or major cross streets)
- Image title
