Car Runs Red Light, Vehicle Crashes Through Brick Wall

Monday evening a two-car accident sent one car crashing through a subdivision brick wall across from Borden Park. The brick wall, owned by the subdivision, runs along southwest corner of E. Hamlin and John R. Roads.

According to Captain Michael Johnson of the Rochester Hills Oakland County Sheriff Substation, one car ran a red light and hit a second vehicle. The collision sent the vehicle off the road, across the bike path and through the brick wall. The vehicle ended up in the back yard of a home off Wentworth Drive.

The brick wall, owned by the subdivision, seems to be the only property damage; and it appears that only landscaping damage affects the homeowner.

The driver at fault, who ran the red light, had minor injuries. The police ticketed the driver for disregarding a traffic signal. No one else was hurt and alcohol was not involved.
