Clarkston pulls away late from Adams

Although Clarkston reached the Class A regional finals last season, the Wolves didn’t start the campaign with a long win streak. In fact, Clarkston was only 2-4 by mid-December a year ago. The Wolves, who returned eight of their top 10 players from last season, have raced out to a 4-0 start this season, topping host Rochester Adams, 41-27, in an OAA crossover girls basketball game Thursday. “Last year we started kind of slow but then we went on a nice run (of wins),” recalled Clarkston … [Read more...]

Troy Soccer Team Dispatches Adams in 3-1 District Win

Monday’s conditions were more suitable for flying a kite than for soccer. But for sixth-ranked Troy, the end result was just right. Troy, the OAA Red Division, defeated Rochester Adams for the second time in six days, topping the Highlanders, 3-1, in a Division 1 boys soccer pre-district contest. After surrendering a goal in the first minute, the Colts sailed past the Highlanders with three unanswered goals to survive and advance. Troy coach Brian Zawislak’s team lost to Adams 2-0 back … [Read more...]

Rochester hands Stoney Creek first league loss

ROCHESTER HILLS — In the preseason, Rochester was supposed to be one of the better baseball teams in Oakland County this spring. The win gave Rochester its third straight … [Read more...]

Mt. Clemens Turns up Pressure to Topple Rochester High

Dwight Sanders is not Mt. Clemens’ normal three-point marksman. On Thursday night, he was dead-on from downtown when it counted most.  There’s plenty of parity in the OAA White Division basketball circles this season.
