Celebrate National Library Week from the Comfort of Your Own Home

The Rochester Hills Public Library Celebrates National Library Week Online, April 4-10

Event Logo

April 4-10, 2021, is National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The week promotes the idea that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building and that everyone is welcome to use their services. Whether people visit virtually or in person, libraries are accessible and inclusive places that foster a sense of belonging and community through learning, discovery, and exploration.

During these challenging times, Rochester Hills Public Library has adapted to our changing world by expanding resources and continuing to meet the needs of patrons. Providing electronic learning resources, including online tutoring, research databases, laptops and Wi-Fi access, and virtual programs have kept the library and the community engaged during the pandemic and reduced in-person access at times.

Rochester Hills Public Library encourages all community members to visit rhpl.org to continue exploring and accessing virtual services and programs. Rochester Hills Public Library offers a wide array of online resources available from the comfort of home, including ancestry.com, Hoopla, OverDrive, tutor.com, and several premium databases such as Consumer Reports and Mango Languages.

During National Library Week, visit Rochester Hills Public Library’s website and social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for videos and quotes from community members answering the question “Why I Love Rochester Hills Public Library!” Find all social media posts with the hashtag #WhyILoveRHPL, and support National Library Week by sharing why you love RHPL and posting to social media using the hashtag from April 4-10.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
