Celebrate the Season with the 14th Annual Kris Kringle Market

Downtown Rochester’s annual Kris Kringle Market returns this holiday season on Friday, December 3, from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 4, from 12 noon to 10:00 p.m. The market will be located on W. Fourth Street between Main and Walnut and will coincide with The Big, Bright Light Show.

A very crowded street with pop-up tents lining both sides. The Kris Kringle Market banner waves overhead of the crowd.

The Kris Kringle Market is an open-air market inspired by the 700-year-old tradition of the European Christmas markets. Visitors may enjoy food, shopping, live entertainment, and the ambience of an open-air holiday market. Offerings include hand-crafted gifts, fresh greens, baked goods, specialty foods, glass blowing and much more. Vendors this year include The New Ewe, Cindy Lou Ceramics, and Kutchey Family Farm as well as, many popular returning vendors, including Nitsche’s Meats & Deli, and The Original Strudel Factory.

“We’re excited for the return of the Kris Kringle Market, as it’s a great way to kick-off the holiday season”, said Taylor Clayton, Marketing Coordinator for the Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA). “It’s a joyous atmosphere, with a lot to offer for holiday gifts, decors, flavors, smells, and the streets aglow with The Big, Bright Light Show.”

Children may enjoy a visit and photo opportunity with Santa Claus, a chance to play in child-sized gingerbread houses, and warm up by the s’more station. There will be food and beverage in the warming tent. Visitors may purchase a commemorative mug filled with Gluhwein or enjoy hand-crafted beer sponsored by the Rochester Mills Beer Co. and Fieldstone Winery. Proceeds from the warming tent will benefit the Rochester Area Youth Assistance (RAYA) on Friday evening and the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority (RARA) on Saturday.
