City of Rochester Clerk Leaves August 25

On Thursday, July 27 City Clerk Lee Ann O’Connor shared that Friday, August 25 will be her final day, as she has accepted the appointment of Clerk/Treasurer for the Village of Oxford.

She wants everyone to know she has been very happy here in Rochester and said, “This new opportunity offers two significant quality of life benefits: no longer administering elections and a four-day work week.” Lee Ann went on to say, “I look forward to this new challenge, but I am very sad to leave Rochester.” There will be an opportunity to visit with Lee Ann in Council Chambers on Friday, August 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The City wishes Lee Ann the best and greatly thanks her for her dedicated service.

Responsibilities of the city clerk:

  • Administering local, State, and Federal elections
  • Issuing pet licenses, dog park permits, business licenses, and business registration
  • Acting as a liaison for Mount Avon Cemetery:
    • Coordinating burials
    • Recording lot sales, marker installations, and burials
