The ninth annual Clinton River Trail Fall Classic event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28. The purpose of this family-friendly fundraiser is to introduce participants to the exceptional natural beauty and amenities found along the Clinton River Trail. The trail passes through five cities in the middle of Oakland County including Rochester, Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Sylvan Lake.
Registration fee is $20 for individuals, $50 for families (maximum of four participants per household, intended for parents and children). In order to obtain an event T-shirt, registration must be received no later than Sept. 9, whether online or by mail. Day of event registration will be available; however, no event T-shirt will be included.
On-site registration and starting point for the event is Riverside Park at the corner of Auburn Road and Squirrel Road in downtown Auburn Hills. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with complimentary bagels and coffee.
Parking is available at the park or at several locations in the immediate area.
There are several route options for riders from five to 40 miles. For walkers there are also options including a 5k route. Routes will be provided at registration. Both easterly and westerly routes are planned. The longer routes include connection to the Macomb Orchard Trail on the east end of the CRT. Rest stops will be available near end points of the CRT. Lunch is between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Riverside Park for all participants.
Exhibits will be displayed by many Fall Classic sponsors.
