Avon Players is kicking off their 2015-2016 theatre season with Jason Robert Brown’s musical Parade, which will run September 11-26, 2015.
On Sunday, June 28 at 6 p.m. and Monday, June 29 at 7 p.m., open auditions will be held at Avon Players Theatre located at 1185 Washington Road, Rochester Hills. Singers and actors, ages 13 to adult are encouraged to attend. No preparation necessary as all material will be taught at the audition. For the Sunday audition, registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for the Monday audition.
According to the Avon Players Facebook page, Parade is based on one of the most sensational trials of the early 20th century and the real life story of Leo Frank. The story explores the endurance of love and hope against all odds amid religious intolerance, political injustice, and racial tension in post-civil war Atlanta. Filled with soaring music and a heart-wrenching story, PARADE offers a moral lesson about the dangers of predjudices and ignorance that should not be forgotten.
