Ah Paris!
Thursday, February 10, 7:00 PM
Rochester Hills Public Library, 500 Olde Towne, Rochester
Whether you have been there once, twice, many times or not at all, the “idea” of Paris and the “Art” of Paris is something we all can enjoy. From the newly found donjon (dungeon) under the Louvre, through the glorious era of Gothic churches reaching breathtaking heights, to the extravagant world of the “Sun King” (Louis XIV), the bohemian pleasures of Monet, Degas, and Toulouse-Lautrec, the crazy worlds of Picasso and Dali, and into the later 20th century editions of the Pompideau and I.M. Pei’s Louvre, Paris is ever changing and ever the same. The Seine still flows, the smell of flowers and pasteries still fill the air and artists still create their visions.
