Corrin Barnett to Perform Live at Oakland Schools Homeless Education and Wraparound Programs event-Dec. 17

Corrin Barnett, wife of Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett, has had the privilege of working with many nonproft organizations in the community throughout the years. Currently in the second year of performing songs from her holiday album, “Just the Beginning,” Corrin will join Barnes & Noble on Friday, Dec. 17 to help raise funds for the Oakland Schools Homeless Student Education and Wraparound programs.

Corrin is a recording artist who was honored to be able to produce a holiday CD in 2009 with all of its proceeds benefiting the Rainbow Connection. This year, her CD sales will benefit several local nonprofits including Grace Centers of Hope and Rochester Community House’s Community Kitchen.

The Rochester Hills Barnes & Noble store is also hosting a Bookfair on December 17 from 4-9 p.m. to benefit the Oakland Schools Homeless Education and Wraparound programs. Both Corrin and Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of every sale made with a special Bookfair voucher. Proceeds from all sales of “Just the Beginning” that evening will go directly to both programs.

“It’s been such a privilege to be a part of this community and give back through something that I love – sharing my favorite holiday songs, as well as some originals,” said Corrin. “Barnes & Noble has been so giving to Oakland County and Rochester Hills, we’re excited to be a part of the event and hope people will come experience the holiday CD for themselves.”

Corrin will perform live during the event at 6 p.m. followed by CD signing and an opportunity to meet with her.  In addition, Bookfair shoppers may choose books from an in-store wish list display to contribute to the Homeless Student Education Program/Wraparound. The Bookfair also includes Story Time with Santa at 7 p.m., game tables, cookies and cocoa with Santa, holiday shopping specials, and more.
