County Employees Donate $7,000 to Trooper Wolf’s family

Following the tragic line-of-duty death of Michigan State Trooper Chad Wolf, Oakland County employees held a Special Casual Day to raise money for his family. On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at 10 a.m., County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will be joined by some county employees during a brief news conference to present a check in the amount of $7,000 to Wolf’s commanding officers, Capt. Monica Yesh and Lt. Mike Shaw, who will accept it on behalf of the Wolf family. A typical Casual Day collection is $300.

Oakland County’s Casual Day program allows employees in participating departments and divisions to wear jeans or dress casually on Thursdays or Fridays for a minimum donation of $1. Since its inception 22 years ago, Oakland County employees have donated well over $700,000 dollars to various charities and causes, touching the lives of thousands of people. No taxpayer funds are used in the Casual Day program.

The presentation will take place in the main lobby of the Oakland County Executive Office Building, 2100 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, Mich.
