Intoxicated man disturbs peace over weekend
On Saturday, June 29, Rochester Police investigated a report of an unwanted man yelling outside a Fraser Street residence. Dispatch told officers the man was trying to gain entry to the home and was intoxicated. When officers arrived, they found the 35-year-old Washington man yelling in the backyard, attempting to have the homeowner let him in. Earlier the same evening, officers responded to a noise and fireworks complaint at the same home. The man mentioned he had attended a party at the residence earlier in the evening and that he and his wife were staying in a house on Romeo Road while they were in town. A background check of the man revealed he had a misdemeanor warrant from Rochester and officers arrested the man. He was taken to booking at the station and was later taken to Crittenton Hospital Medical Center after telling officers he ingested an undetermined number of pills.
Suspended license lands driver another citation
On Friday, June 28, Rochester Police stopped a 23-year-old Harper Woods resident when the officer on patrol did a background check of the driver’s license plate when driving behind him. The check revealed the car owner had a suspended license as well as two warrants for his arrest by the Lansing Police Department. The Rochester officer conducted a traffic stop and it was confirmed the driver was the car owner. The officer contacted Lansing Police and took the driver to the Rochester station for booking. Officers gave the driver a misdemeanor citation for driving with a suspended license and he was released.
Identity thief sets up Comcast account, at expense of Rochester woman
On Tuesday, June 25, Rochester Police investigated a report of stolen identity and an illegitimate Comcast cable account. The Ironwood Court resident told officers she recently moved into her new apartment and tried to set up a Comcast cable account. When she contacted Comcast, the company told her she could not use her name because someone with her name and social security number had already set up an account in January. The woman has lived with her mother for the past two years after moving home from Chicago and has not had a Comcast account. The investigation is ongoing.
Drunken woman taken to Crittenton for detox
On Monday, June 24, Rochester Police received a call of an intoxicated woman who was lying on the sidewalk on Main Street between Third and Fourth streets. When officers found a woman that fit the description the dispatch provided, they stopped the woman. Officers recognized the 44-year-old Rochester resident from prior calls involving her alcohol consumption, according to reports. After confirming she was heavily intoxicated, the woman was taken to Crittenton Hospital Medical Center for detoxification without any trouble.
