Beginning on October 24, the City will have crews out picking up leaves at the curb. Please assemble neat piles of leaves right along the curb, in the street. Grass clippings, pet waste, municipal waste and tree limbs are strictly prohibited.
As summer comes to an end, the Michigan Fall colors blast into view. Unfortunately, after this brilliant color display, the season concludes with raking…but the good news is, the City of Rochester continues to offer curbside leaf collection. Beginning the week of Monday, October 24, we’ll have the crews out picking up leaves at the curb.

Curbside Leaf Collection
Please assemble neat piles of leaves right along the curb, in the street. Grass clippings, pet waste, municipal waste and tree limbs are strictly prohibited. Also, please do not park your vehicle on the piles of leaves in the street; this could potentially create favorable conditions for a fire under your car.
Curbside pickup will continue through November and is dependent upon weather and the rate the leaves fall. If your leaves are not out to the curb by the end of November, your options are to bag them and bring to the Rochester DPW at no cost (7AM-3PM, M-F) or hold on to them until next spring (not placed curbside all winter please).
During this time, chipping services will also still be available, but at a much reduced frequency. Please give DPW a call at 248-651-5165 and your branches will be picked up at the next available opportunity.
A friendly wave is always appreciated by our crews providing these wonderful services. The City of Rochester staff would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation. Rochester is a great place; it’s Where You Live.
Please contact the Rochester DPW at 248-651-5165 with any questions.
