Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) welcomes true crime author Thomas Carr on Tuesday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room to discuss his third book in the “Blood on the Mitten Series” titled, Dark Side of the Mitten: Crimes of the Powerful & Powerful Criminals in Michigan’s Past & Present.
Michigan’s past has a more sinister side than what is commonly displayed on roadside historical markers. In his book, Carr presents a wide array of stories about Michigan’s gritty and gruesome past, all told with his signature humor and irreverence.
Thomas Carr is also the author of the best-selling 2016 release, “Blood on the Mitten: Infamous Michigan Murders,” 1700s-Present,” and of the popular 2018 release, “MI BAD: Robbers, Cutthroats and Thieves in Michigan’s Past and Present.” All three titles are published by Mission Point Press.
Carr was born in Grand Rapids, grew up in Northville, graduated from Michigan State, and has lived and reported in Sturgis, Sault Ste. Marie and Traverse City. He now lives near Buckley, with his wife Maria, in a farmhouse where they raised their two sons.
This event is open to RHPL cardholders. Registration is required. To register, visit calendar.rhpl.org or call 248-656-2900.
