Dear Crabby, What is your Favorite TV Show?

Just Curious, George

There is that one program I watch every fall, where the Lions compete again Bears, Dolphins, Rams, Seahawks and others. We had a few more episodes this time, but as always, the season ended horribly and I swear each year I won’t watch next season – but I do – just like my promise not to watch another season of 24. The program with Kiefer Sutherland. Boy that got worse with each run, so bad in fact the last one was only 12 episode – Hello, the program is called 24! Guess I should be happy they cut my torment in half. Some programs were so good the first time around, guess I’m dreaming when I think it will return to that quality.

More recently, I got hooked on Parks and Recreation, primarily because of the character of Ron Swanson, played by Nick Offerman. Ron is an anti-government kind of guy, hates social programs and loves cutting the budget – I know, he sounds just about perfect. Too bad the show ended.

Anyway, right now my favorite TV show is Last Man Standing. This newer sitcom with Tim Allen is great. I think men, conservative men, may like it more than the ladies, but it’s a funny show. Tim spent many years in Michigan and you may recall his previous hit TV show, Home Improvement, which was set in suburban Detroit. This new hit, Last Man Standing, is set in Colorado. But the program still ties itself to Michigan. He makes jokes about President Obama and Hillary Clinton, something you don’t find too often in television. Big government, high taxes and alternative energies are also targeted. The best reason I have is that Tim Allen’s character, Mike Baxter, is first and foremost a family man – faith and family come first – something I can relate to.

I try to keep TV watching to a minimum, but when I do watch, I like it be funny with leading characters I can feel connected to. Morals, jokes, and good judgment keep me tuned-in. Making fun of politicians, that’s a bonus!

Thanks for asking.

Sincerely, Dear Crabby
