Declaration of Independence: The Words Heard Around the World

The Rochester Hills Public Library will host “Declaration of Independence: The Words Heard Around the World” with Dr. John Todd of Rochester University on March 10, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the library’s Multipurpose Room. Dr. Todd will discuss the origins of the Declaration of Independence, its purposes, and how it changed the world.

Dr. Todd has taught at Rochester University since 1979. He is a member of the Federalist Society and National Association of Scholars.

Registration for this program is required. The program is open to the public. To register call 248-656-2900.

Smart Towns is a lifelong learning program led by local educational organizations. The Smart Towns partners include Rochester University, Oakland University, the Rochester-Avon Historical Society, the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm, Meadow Brook Hall, and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital (Crittenton Hospital). Together the Smart Towns partners provide a unique series of programs exploring one theme or topic per year. Lectures are presented by experts in their fields of study.
