The Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission and the Board of Trustees invites guests to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, May 22 at 4:00 p.m. Explore rustic trails that wind through open fields and woodlands and learn about this park’s natural and cultural heritage. The trail entrance is located at 1627 West Predmore Road in Oakland Township and includes a parking area.
Light refreshments will be served after the ribbon cutting and recognition ceremony. The purchase of this 234-acre property, which protects water resources, rare species, and special habitats, was funded by a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant that covered 75% of the purchase price and funds from Oakland Township’s Land Preservation millage with the assistance of Six Rivers Land Conservancy.
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Paint Creek Cider Mill, 4480 Orion Road. Contact Parks and Recreation at 248-651-7810.
