Join us on Sunday, April 10 as we participate in Good Deeds Day. Good Deeds Day is an international event with millions of participants in 70+ countries paying it forward through good deeds both large and small on this day. For Rochester’s Good Deed, we are collecting food for the Rochester Community House Food Pantry and Benny’s Kitchen.
Rochester’s Good Deeds Day will be held at the Rochester Fire Department at 277 E. Second Street, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The day will also include kids’ activities, tours of the newly renovated Fire Station, fire & police vehicles and much more.
The Rochester Community House Food Pantry offers emergency food for low-income families in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills. Benny’s Kitchen offers dog and cat food and was started by Rochester resident Pat Kane. Both the Pantry and Benny’s Kitchen rely on donations from local churches, food drives, school sponsored events, businesses and service organizations in Rochester and the surrounding areas.
Items needed include canned goods, cereal, oatmeal, Hamburger Helper, rice & pasta sides, Ramen noodles, boxed potatoes, pasta, spaghetti sauce, cake mixes & frosting, dry dog and cat food, canned dog food, canned cat food, rawhide bones, cat treats, cat & dog toys, paper products, laundry detergent and soap.
