Seeking Avondale Students Who “Stand Out From the Crowd” for Annual Youth Recognition Awards
Avondale Youth Assistance (AYA) and the Auburn Hills Morning Optimist Club have partnered in a search for students who “stand out from the crowd” to celebrate the good things they have accomplished. Students in grades 5 and higher who reside or attend a public, private or parochial school within the Avondale School District are eligible to be part of this distinguished group of youth who have volunteered in the community and/or shown exceptional personal efforts over the past year.

Any adult individual or community organization may nominate candidates for recognition. Past young people recognized have served in area hospitals, nursing homes and churches, been active in school service projects, tutored or mentored fellow classmates, given time to community projects or taken positive steps to turn their lives around. Nomination forms are available online at www.avondaleyouthassistance.com or by calling 248-852-3716. The deadline for nominations is January 25, 2018.
Those Avondale students selected will be honored at the Annual Youth Recognition Awards Ceremony Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Avondale High School Performing Arts Center in Auburn Hills. Several local, county and state dignitaries participate in making this event very special.
