There will be tons of fun family activities, free and open to the public, including a hayride, pumpkin painting, and horse grooming demonstration. There will be exhibits with quilters, spinners, local beekeeping, horse Ferrier, and chickens. Local painters will be displaying their beautiful artwork, with talents of musicians to fill the historic district. David Phillips, HDC Chairman said he “always looks forward to hearing Just Banjo’s and Harmonica George, as well participating in the apple picking activities.” Dinosaur Hill will have lawn games and the Parks and Recreation is pulling the hay wagon. Pumpkin painting – while they last – please allow dry time and enjoy the other activities. Emily and Trevor Barkham, from Rochester Cider Mill, planted the pumpkin patch again this year.
The Oakland Township Historical Society has received many fabulous donations for the Flumerfelt Flea market in the barn; open both Saturday and Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m. They will also be selling Popz Beez honey, fresh from CLF Bees.
Fire Open House 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.
Just down the road the Oakland Township Fire Department will be celebrating their annual National Fire Prevention Month by hosting their annual open house from noon to 4:00 p.m. Meet local firefighters, Jaws of Life demonstrations, and more.
