The Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was the proud recipient of two awards at the annual Main Street Oakland County (MSOC) Main Event held at the Royal Oak Music Theater earlier this week. The press release went on to state that the event recognized outstanding achievements in downtown revitalization programs including design, business improvement, organization, and promotions efforts.
Downtown Rochester was recognized for two new events, each which made their debut in 2014. The Rochester Explorers Club, a family-friendly promotion that invites kids of all ages to get out and explore all that Rochester has to offer, received the award for “Outstanding Event Series.” The Downtown Rochester Festival of Trees, a holiday spectacular unlike any other, featuring trees, wreaths, stockings and tablescapes designed and donated by the greater Rochester community, received the “Outstanding Creative Event” Award.
“Once again Downtown Rochester was recognized at the MSOC Awards Night for its outstanding programs that serve as prime examples for all downtowns throughout the County, State and Nation,” stated Bob Donohue, Main Street Oakland County Coordinator. “It is clear to all that Downtown Rochester is a winner by everyone’s definition.”
