County Executive L. Brooks Patterson is urging Oakland County families to adopt a pet at Oakland County Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center during the “Empty the Shelters” event on Saturday, April 29. The Bissell Pet Foundation will pay all adoption fees for a dog or cat.
“Empty the Shelters is an excellent opportunity to take home a new friend from our pet adoption center,” Patterson said. “Our goal is to adopt out as many dogs and cats as we can to loving families.”
Oakland County Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center has dozens of dogs and cats available for adoption. Each pet available for adoption will be spayed or neutered; current on vaccinations; tested for heartworm, feline leukemia, and feline infectious peritonitis; and treated for parasites.
Oakland County Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center is located at 1700 Brown Road in Auburn Hills. For more information on Oakland County Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center or the Empty the Shelters event, click on www.OakGov.com/PetAdoption or call 248-391-4100.
