Woodland Treasures for the Shade Garden

October 13, 2015 @ 11:15 am

The most successful gardeners are those who can make gorgeous plants grow in virtually any location. Shady locations can be challenging because many plants require hours of sunshine to thrive. However, there are many woodland plants that have evolved in shady environments that are perfect for the home garden.

The Rochester Garden Club is pleased to offer a program about the wide variety, beauty and diversity of woodland plants. Dr. Anton Reznicek , curator and assistant director of the University of Michigan Herbarium will present “Woodland Treasures for the Shade Garden.” Dr. Reznicek specializes in North American plant life, concentrating on the Great Lakes region. His detailed knowledge of native plants and lovely photos will delight and inspire gardeners of all abilities and backgrounds.

This presentation will be at the Rochester Community House on October 13 at 11:15 am. It is open to the public, but registration is required and a donation of $5.00 is appreciated. Seating is limited. To register, call Pat at 586-337-0897 or contact us at RochesterGardenClub.org.
