Explore the History and Legends of Spain at the RHPL

Experience the visual history and legends of Spain on Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Public Library. Al Eicher will give a lecture and visual presentation that begins with visiting historic sites in Madrid then on to Toledo to visit the Toledo Cathedral and San Domingo De Silos, where El Greco spent many years painting. Visit the country sides of Spain and see their agricultural resources and the windmills made popular by Don Quixote. The tour continues through the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Grenada, with stops along the Costa del Sol region of the Spanish Riviera. A trip to Spain wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Rock of Gibralter, where Eicher ventured into the WWII tunnels and natural caverns. Next head to Seville, with a stop at bull rings, a Flamenco Dance show and a visit to the Royal Palace of Seville and the Royal Cathedral.

Registration is required and open to those with a Rochester Hills Public library card. To register, go to the Events Calendar at www.rhpl.org or call 248-656-2900.

The Rochester Hills Public Library is located in downtown Rochester two blocks east of Main Street off of University Drive on Olde Towne Road. For more information, call 248-650-7124.
