The OPC joins a national campaign to screen the film between February and June 2016 to help change the conversation about aging in each community.

Film Explores Love and Intimacy at 70+

Speed dating for the 70 plus generation is becoming a growing trend in the U.S. thanks in large part to The Age of Love. The film opens the minds to the truth of desires in the aging WWII population.

As one 74-year-old speed dater puts it, “No one, not even my children, asks me what’s in my heart anymore.”

Director, Steven Loring, notes the growing conversation on a topic long considered taboo. “As the world faces a brand new ‘fourth generation’ of active, healthy adults 70 to 100 and beyond, understanding and supporting their need for intimacy has become a hot topic. We’re learning there’s nothing ‘cute’ about love at 80. As one speed dater expresses it, ‘Love remains just as challenging as intense as when we were younger.”

The Age of Love screening and Q&A will be held in the OPC Auditorium from 6-8pm on March 22. Pre-register by calling 248-656-1403, ext. 0. For more information, visit www.opcseniorcenterorg or visit OPC Senior Center on Facebook.
