Finding a Cure: Stoney Creek Rallies Past Oxford for Second Straight Win

ROCHESTER HILLS Rochester Stoney Creek may not have found a cure for cancer Friday night. That’s up to those in the medical profession.

The Cougars, however, are finding ways to win football games as of late.

After starting the season 0-3, Stoney Creek captured its second straight win in OAA White Division play, this time with a come-from-behind, 14-7 victory over Oxford as part of its inaugural Cats For A Cure game.

Fans by the thousands purchased pink T-shirts for a cancer fundraiser, also part of Stoney Creek’s week-long homecoming festivities. They saw the revived Cougars, who gave up over 100 points during the first three weeks of the season, post a fourth-quarter comeback against the pesky Wildcats.

Stoney Creek also upset Southfield 34-21 the previous week.
