Ziplining will replace tube sledding at this year’s Fire & Ice Festival in Rochester because the weather has not cooperated in the construction of the sledding hill. Festival goers will still be able to enjoy all their other favorite Fire & Ice activities including fireworks; the Big, Bright Light Show; TasteFest, The Brooksie Way Chill at the Mills, ice carving, dogsled rides, ice skating (bring your own skates), snowshoeing, cross country skiing, carriage rides, and more. The Fire & Ice Festival, runs this weekend Friday, January 19 – Sunday, January 21.
“Thanks to Oakland County Parks & Recreation and the Fire & Ice Festival Committee and volunteers, we are able to make this last-minute adjustment so that our guests will continue to enjoy our family-friendly winter event,” said J. David VanderVeen, Fire & Ice Festival Committee chairperson. “We are replacing only one activity, the rest are a go.”
