To celebrate Independence Day, here is a list of fireworks displays going on in Oakland County from July 4 until July 18. Wear Red, White & Blue, raise the Flag, and take the family to see and hear freedom.

DYI and Local Laws

For the do-it-yourself crowd, Rochester Hills has a new fireworks store. Motown Fireworks at 1390 Walton Blvd. (across from Rochester High School in the strip mall with GFS) has all the big stuff a fireworks buff may want. Open through the weekend. Call 248-225-1406 for more info.

The City of Rochester ordinance allows for the use of fireworks from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm on permitted days.

The City of Rochester Hills ordinance allows for the use of fireworks from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 midnight (1:00 a.m. New Year’s Day) on the day before, the day of, or the day after a national holiday.

State law says fireworks are only permitted to be used the day before, the day of, or the day after national holidays.
