First Woman to Serve as the United States Attorney in Michigan’s Eastern District to be Honored

Former United States Attorney Barbara McQuade to be Honored for Public Service and Historic Appointment as the First Woman to Serve as the United States Attorney in Michigan’s Eastern District

Oakland County Commissioner Bill Dwyer will honor former United States Attorney of the Eastern District of Michigan, Barbara L. McQuade, for her years of outstanding public service. On Thursday, March 30, 2017, he will present a proclamation that will also recognize her place in history as the first woman to serve as the United States Attorney in Michigan’s Eastern District as part of Women’s History Month.

The proclamation will be presented at the Oakland County Board of Commissioners 9:30 a.m. meeting in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road, in Pontiac, Michigan.

“U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade is a trailblazer and an outstanding public servant. She has served with great integrity and has demonstrated exceptional leadership during her tenure. I am proud of her accomplishments and the impact she has made in the law enforcement community. Her contributions to protect citizens and bring criminals to justice will be her greatest legacy,” stated Oakland County Commissioner Bill Dwyer.
