Oakland County, MI (June 8, 2011) – Oakland County Circuit Judge Michael Warren will be the guest of honor and featured speaker for a Flag Day celebration hosted by the VFW Acorn Post 1669 on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. The event will begin at 7:30P in the VFW Hall located at 214 E. Fourth Street in Royal Oak. Admission is free and open to the public.
Flag Day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the American flag as the official symbol of the United States by the Continental Congress in 1777. It represents the people, places, beliefs, and ideals that this country was founded upon.
Inspirational speaker and author, Judge Warren will address how we as a country have forgotten our Founding First Principles and history, why that is a grave threat to our survival as a free people, and what to do about the crisis. In honor of Flag Day, he will review the origins and importance of various flags from America’s history. In addition, Judge Warren will address the First Principles of equality, unalienable rights, the Social Compact, limited government, the rule of law, and revolution.
“We need to renew the American Spirit, and Patriot Week is a vital way to do it,” remarked Judge Warren. Patriot Week (patriotweek.org). Patriot Week is a grass roots effort co-created by Judge Warren and his daughter Leah. Framed by the key dates of September 11 (the anniversary of the terrorist’s attacks) and September 17 (Constitution Day, the anniversary of when the United States Constitution was signed), Patriot Week celebrates and honors America by celebrating the First Principles, Founding Fathers and other Patriots, vital documents and speeches, and flags that make America the greatest nation in world history.
