Former Rochester Hills resident offers seniors a way to live ‘Gracefully’

In response to the growing demand for exceptional senior care, a new, innovative facility is on the verge of opening its doors in Howell, Michigan. Graceful Living

“Graceful Living” is the fitting name of the new home, and also defines what sets this concept apart from typical elder care. The catalysts behind this new setting are two dedicated women, the joyful Grace Terry, and former Rochester Hills resident Laura Kwapis. They live with a passion for setting a new standard of a graceful, holistic, and honorable environment for its residents to spend their days in.

Graceful Living itself is the lifestyle that this home will encourage and embrace, and as Kwapis desires, “to offer an engaging, socially interactive and intimate living experience where our seniors can thrive within an all encompassing green environment.”

The beautiful sustainable residence will be a place where families can feel at ease about the natural place for their loved ones to live, with the confidence that they are being respected and well cared for.

Even though many types of elder care facilities exist, Terry acknowledges that there are still some missing pieces. As someone who has worked extensively in the field, she noticed that leaving loved ones to enter a facility could be overwhelming and lonely for all involved. Her passion is to change all that by offering seniors the intimacy of living within an actual home-like setting, surrounded by nature, in an environmentally conscious and comfortable setting.

Graceful Living’s First Round Goal is to raise $100,000 towards their start up costs. They are planning to open their doors on September 6, 2014.
