Cabi Shopping Event to Provide Free Stylists and Clothing to Local Women Facing Cancer
You might wonder what a clothing company and a cancer charity have in common, yet it all comes down to relationships for both. Cabi, a clothing company specializing in the experience of shopping at home, and New Day Foundation for Families, a non-profit dedicated to alleviating the financial toxicity of cancer for families, are partnering to help transform the wardrobes of dozens of local cancer patients and survivors by providing free clothing and stylists to help choose it.
Both organizations are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others: one by providing financial assistance and counseling to families facing cancer, the other by serving and empowering women in need through their Heart of Cabi Foundation. The result is a complimentary wardrobe selected just for women facing cancer. Women facing cancer from the Angels of Hope and The Pink Fund will also participate in the event.
Transforming lives by changing clothes. Does it work? It’s not a cure, but New Day knows firsthand how the emotional stress of a cancer diagnosis can impact an entire family. Lifting one’s spirits with new clothes is just a step in the right direction.
On Saturday, May 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. dozens of cancer patients and survivors associated with the New Day Foundation, Angels of Hope, and The Pink Fund at the Great Oaks Country Club in Rochester Hills. The will meet with Cabi wardrobe stylists to select up to five units of new and sample clothing per person.
“We chose the New Day Foundation for Families because they are such an incredible organization that provides support in a unique way to families struggling with cancer,” said stylist Heather Lynch, Heart of Cabi Foundation Ambassador for Greater Michigan. “New Day recognizes and addresses the financial toxicity of cancer. They strive to help relieve the financial stress that comes from a cancer diagnosis, which has a correlation to the success of a positive outcome for the patient.
“A mother struggling with cancer should not have to be burdened with the financial cost of her cancer. She should be able to focus on getting healthy. I want to be able to give these women struggling with cancer a day of pampering. I want them to forget about their cancer, if only for a few hours. These women will be able to work with a trained stylist to help them put together a wardrobe of beautiful Cabi clothing. We will have a range of clothing from lounge wear, weekend wear to wear-to-work pieces.”
