Friends Fundraiser for the Rochester Hills Library

School bells and crisp night air reminds us that September is here. Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library are hosting a Schwan’s Event, on Saturday September 11th from 11:00 to 3:00 in the southeast parking lot. Now is the time to purchase after school snacks and quick nutritious meals for the start of the school year and all those busy fall sport schedules. Schwan’s offers a wide variety of meats, vegetables, snacks, quick meals, seafood, pizza, desserts and, best of all, delicious ice cream.

The Friends earn a percentage of the sales and the dollars earned are used for library programs and items that are not covered in the budget. In the past, the Friends have purchased the bookmobile, an electronic information screen and provided the funding for all adult and youth programs. With the current downturn in the economy, the funds help maintain the high level of quality service to all of our library customers.

To support the library through the Schwan’s Event, you can preorder using catalogs available at the library Information Desk and pick up your order on September 11th. Leave your completed orders in the box at the information desk no later than Friday, September 3. You can stop by the parking lot on Saturday, September 11th between and 11:00 and 3:00 and purchase items directly from the truck. You can also go to or call 1-888-724-9267 and order gift certificates. These can be used on future orders that will be delivered directly to your home. When ordering the certificates, please remember to use the special code 30195 so that the Friends receive credit.
