Friends of Rochester Hills Library Resume Used Book Sales on Limited Basis

Get Ready to Hunt Again for Some Great Literary Bargains, but Only by Appointment, and Shoppers Must Spend at Least $10.

Operating under Covid-19 safety rules that limit access, the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library have reopened the Used Book Sale Room on the second floor of the Library at 500 Olde Towne Road to the general public.

Here are the ground rules:  Entrance is strictly by appointment only. To keep everyone as safe as possible, only 10 customers are allowed in at one time for 30 minutes each. Besides wearing a mask, shoppers will be asked to use hand sanitizer and/or gloves when entering enter the room, and to keep social distance as much as possible. All of the books have been quarantined for a minimum of 3 days and most of them for much longer. Others items – CDs, DVDs, and board games – are also available.

Shoppers are also required to spend a minimum of $10. This should not be difficult, there’s a great collection to choose from.

To start with, the Friends are scheduling three shifts each Wednesday or Thursday evening. Depending on the dictates of pandemic regulations, hours, days, and perhaps the number of customers at one time may be expanded.

“This has been a challenging time for us all and we appreciate the patience of our loyal clientele,” said Friends Book Chairperson Anne Gruenewald. “We have been doing our best with limited resources.” Receipts from the sales are an important income source for the Friends. All proceeds go to augment public funding for support library operations and resources.

To reserve a shopping time, go online to https://calendly.com/usedbooksale/used-book-sale. If there is more than one person reserving, please sign up individually so the Friends can have an accurate count of the number attending.

Thank you! The only day available on the chart was Thur, 11-19 at 6:45-7:15! I wasn’t able to change the time or date. My wife wanted to come with me also at that time. We’re the other nine slots filled at that time and were all the other times taken on that date? I tried to rebook her and all that came up was Mon, 11-16 at 7:30 Thank You for your help
