Friends of the Library Sale Features Quilting Books

Used Book and Media Sale

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library sale of used books and assorted other media on April 26-29 gives book-o-philes, game lovers, music and movie fans. At this edition of the sale, fans of quilts and quilting get a bonanza, thanks to a recent large donation of books on the subject.

The sale takes place at the Friends’ second floor used book sale facility at the Library, 500 Olde Towne Road in downtown Rochester.

There’s always plenty to like for those with other interests as well. Except for a few higher quality items that are priced individually, hardcover and large softcover books are $1, paperbacks and children’s books are 50 cents. Also available are many DVDs, CDs, books on CD, board and digital games and VHS tapes that are also inexpensively priced.

The order of sale follows the usual pattern: The first day is a presale for members of the Friends group, the library’s donor support arm. They get first look at the stock Wednesday, April 25 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. (Memberships — individual $20; family $35; Student/Senior $10; senior couple $20— are available at the door.)

Public Sale Hours:

  • Thursday, April 26, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 28, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 29, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday is also Bag Day, where buyers can fill a grocery bag of remaining items for $5 a bag.
