The City of Rochester Hills is actively recruiting seasonal laborers, lifeguards, and park attendants for summer 2021.
For high school students looking to get their first job, working with the city allows individuals to be outdoors, gain valuable work experience, and make new friends.
“Whether you are keeping swimmers safe on Spencer Beach or helping to create a safe and enjoyable park-going experience at Borden, our seasonal team members are a key part of what makes Rochester Hills a regional destination for summer fun,” said Mayor Bryan K. Barnett.
Having this first job with the city may also open the door for opportunities to advance. In addition to a strong group of returnees, several seasonal team members have been promoted to other positions with the City.
Grant VanSlembrouck, Assistant Park Ranger at Innovation Hills, the city’s newest park, started as a part attendant. “Working for the City of Rochester Hills (Parks) is the best summer job you could ask for. It’s a fun environment where you are working outdoors and learning skills that you will use for the rest of your life,” said VanSlembrouck. “Personally, I am grateful to be able to use my passion for working with people and include it in all kinds of outdoor activities.”
Teens ages 16 and older, college students, older residents, and others interested in working in public service this summer are encouraged to apply for these seasonal positions.
