Fun for Foodies During Downtown Rochester Restaurant Week

ROCHESTER, Mich. – July 21, 2011Foodies unite!  The inaugural Downtown Rochester Restaurant Week kicks off this summer, Aug. 7 – 12!  This is a great opportunity to try a new restaurant or support an old favorite!

During Restaurant Week, restaurants will offer a prix fixe menu for lunch (two courses for $10 or less) and dinner (three courses for $20).  Lunch will be served daily until 4:00 pm and dinner will be served from 4:00 pm to close.

At this time, there are 15 restaurants participating.  Restaurants fit into two categories; those serving lunch only and those serving both lunch and dinner.  Current Lunch Only restaurants are Chomp Deli & Grille, Main Street Deli, Penn Station East Coast Subs, Red Knapp’s Dairy Bar, Victorian Rose and Willoughby’s Beyond Juice.  Restaurants serving Lunch & Dinner are Bangkok Cuisine, Kruse & Muer on Main, Mr. B’s Food & Spirits, O’Connor’s Public House, Paul’s on Main, Penny Black, Rochester Mills Beer Co., Rojo Mexican Bistro and Royal Park Hotel.

In addition to restaurants, several businesses in downtown Rochester will open their doors to diners for special hours during Restaurant Week.  Be sure to visit Dessert Oasis, Fieldstone Winery, Firebrick Gallery & Pottery Studio, Sanders, Sole Sisters and Talulah Belle, each of which will be open until 8:00 pm Sunday – Wednesday AND 9:00 pm on Thursday and Friday.

Menus for participating restaurants will be posted on the official Restaurant Week webpage as they are received at www.DowntownRochesterMI.com/restaurantweek.  An up-to-date list of participating restaurants also will be listed.

Foodies (and anyone with a sweet tooth!) should also be sure to mark their calendars for Rochester’s Great American Bake Sale on Saturday, August 6, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market, located at the corner of E. Third and Water Street.  This new event is a community-wide bake sale to benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign.  Baked good donation forms are being accepted through Aug. 1.
