Get a healthy start to the this years’ Art & Apples Festival at the First Annual Healthy Kids Fun Run sponsored by HealthPlus of Michigan. The fun starts at 8:30am in Rochester Park on Saturday, September 7, where kids ages 12 and under will gather to run the north loop of the festival.
Paint Creek Center for the Arts and HealthPlus of Michigan have teamed up to offer this new activity in the park the weekend of the festival, “We’ve talked about incorporating an “exercise” component to the festival and since it takes place in the park, we thought this would be the perfect fit” says Festival Director, Laura Bates.
Parents are encouraged to participate with their child as they run or walk the quarter mile loop. All participants will get a healthy prize at the finish line. Pre-registration is available online at www.artandapples.com, or you can register on-site the morning of the event. Registration the day of will begin at 7:30am and children will be split into two groups; ages 6 and under and ages 8-12.

The 48th annual Art & Apples Festival takes place Friday, September 6 through Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Rochester Park and features over 285 fine artists from across the country, entertainment on two stages and plenty of food and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
